How to care for your silver

Silver is attractive for its soft shine and gentle texture.
However, when I tried to use it after a long time, it turned black. Oh my God.

Silver reacts with sulfur contained in the air and sebum, etc., and "sulfides" and turns black.
If you accidentally put it in a hot spring, it will turn into oxidized silver.
As with pearls, silver accessories should be wiped lightly after use and kept out of the air as much as possible. Here's a trick to use all the time.
The interesting thing about silver is that it is strangely difficult to discolor if you wear it on a daily basis. This is probably because it is constantly polished by friction.

Monstera leaf encloses a "discoloration prevention chip" in the product.  A small piece of black paper measuring 25x25mm helps prevent discoloration! This is the "anti-tarnish tab". Effective on all metals. It is an excellent item that can prevent discoloration just by putting one in the accessory case. (The effect is 6 months to 1 year depending on usage)

Please use it for your own jewelry.

It's okay if the color changes. There are countermeasures.

■ Polish with a metal cloth
How to polish with a polishing cloth dedicated to metal.
This is an excellent product that cleans even the smallest scratches.

Because it contains abrasives, it will be shiny in no time.

However, be careful not to polish too much!
"Sunshine Polish Cloth" is available at Monstera leaf. It has a thick texture and is very easy to use, and you can easily restore the shine by simply polishing it lightly.

■ Use baking soda
Prepare water, baking soda and cloth. Baking soda made into a paste by adding water is applied directly to the jewelry and polished.
Carbonic acid generated from baking soda and water lifts dirt and polishes silver with gentle particles.
Start with a small amount so as not to hurt.
After scrubbing, wash with water, polish with a soft, dry cloth, and dry.

■ Use toothpaste
Toothpaste (so-called toothpaste) contains surfactants and abrasives and is paste-like, so you can use it as it is for cleaning silver.
Usage is the same as layer. Use a toothbrush for fine details.
Be careful not to brush soft materials such as pearls.

Silver is a little more difficult than other metals, but if you know its characteristics, you will be surprised by its wonderful charm.
